In the Pulpit: Lama Thupten Phuntsok

Lama Thupten Phuntsok hails from Haiti originally, but was brought up mainly in New York City. He was an ordained member of the Gelugpa Sangha (Gelong) from 1993 to 2012. He is a long-time student of Sera Mey Khensur Rinpoche, Geshe Lobsang Tharchin, who passed in 2004. Over the past 15 years, Lama Phuntsok has studied at Sera Mey Monastery in Mysore, India. He has also taken teachings from many prominent Tibetan Lamas, including His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Kirti Tsenshab Rinpoche, and His Holiness the 17th Karmapa, and has participated in Mind and Life Institute conferences held by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and Western scientists.

Lama Phuntsok has taught meditation and led retreats at a number of locations over the past 16 years. He is known for his ability to make the practice of meditation accessible to all practitioners.

All are welcome.  Service starts 10:45 a.m.
Sunday School, Toddler Care, and Nursery available.
