One of our earliest members, Board president 1856-59,
Abolitionist, Transcendentalist, Shaw was also
a founder of the Republican Party
and traveled in American’s most rarified intellectual circles.
His three children also made profound contributions
to life on Staten Island and the entire country.
This will be the final service of our 2014-2014 Church Year.
