This summer I visited Germany and was introduced to the stolpersteine, or stumbling blocks. These are small, individual monuments commemorating victims of the Holocaust, which are found all over the country. I thought, “Where are America’s stumbling blocks?”

Where are our reminders of national evil that might bring us to healing?
