Greening of the Church from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Minister’s Open House from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m.
Join us for the annual Greening of the Church, sponsored by the Membership Committee, as we prepare to magically transform our church into the most beautiful and festive place imaginable. We’ll have greens on hand and ribbons and bows from years past, but please bring any other decorations that we might use. This year there will also be ornament making for the children and youth sponsored by the Religious Exploration Program as well as ornament making for everyone by Jill Hueckel.
Jill writes: “Please bring old Holiday cards and toilet paper cardboard rolls to the Greening of the Church on Friday, December 14th. Any cardstock paper, especially holiday theme is welcome. Learn to make ornaments from your cherished cards and photos. Also bring your good scissors.”
We’ll have a tree to decorate and some refreshments. Santa Claus is rumored to arrive sometime during the Greening of the Church.
And afterwards, join our minister, Rev. Susan Karlson and her husband, Alan Kindler for an open house with wassail punch and cookies provided by Steve Nutt and Jill Hueckel. Other refreshments will be provided by your hosts, Susan and Alan.
Take some time to just refresh and relax from all the busyness of the holiday season at the parsonage of the Unitarian Church of Staten Island.
